The weather's heating up. Summer's in sight. Not to mention, it's finally the weekend. Things are looking good, my friends.

To celebrate such a momentous occasion, we're raising a glass – well, three glasses to be exact. That's right, we've got a tequila flight lined up for you. Complete with three types of tequilas and pairings, by the last round, you'll be good to go.

Enjoy!

FIRST THINGS FIRST: CLASS THINGS UP A BIT

Good tequila is meant to be sipped and savored. Leave the shot glasses for another time and opt for champagne flutes or wine glasses instead. This little swap in glassware elevates the whole tasting experience.

Now that's settled, let's get started...

ROUND 1

Let's kick things off with something nice and easy: a blanco tequila. The hallmark of this smooth operator is the clear color and strong agave flavor, with hints of citrus and herbs. For this one, stick with a classic tequila pairing – sliced lime and sea salt. (Our picks: Espolon Blanco, Hornitos Plata, and Casa Dragones Tequila Blanco.)

ROUND 2

Taking it up a notch with a reposado tequila. Aged in oak caskets for up to a year, this tequila is slightly darker than the blanco and takes on a more oaky taste, with hints of vanilla. This smoky flavor plays well with a sweet pairing, such as dried mangoes and a pinch of raw sugar. (Our picks: Republic Reposado Tequila and Camarena Tequila Reposado.)

ROUND 3

Finish strong with an anejo tequila. These tequilas age over a year before they’re ready for drinking, proving good things come to those who wait! This tequila packs quite the flavor punch – combining a strong oak flavor with notes of cinnamon, caramel, chocolate, and coffee. To bring out these rich flavors, pair it with dark chocolate and coffee beans. (Our picks: Tequila Fortaleza Anejo and Casa Noble Anejo.)
