We are pretty big fans of the holiday season. There’s no other time of year quite like it.
It’s hard to pinpoint one thing that makes this season so great. But if we had to choose, it’d be the sheer amount of parties – tacky sweater parties, white elephant parties, office cocktail parties, the list goes on. Needless to say, it’s a celebratory time of year.
If you find yourself in the position to host one of these shindigs (or if you just want to throw yourself a personal celebration), we’ve got you covered with the perfect cocktail that’s sure to make your soiree a success.
Here’s our recipe:
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
2 tbsp. cranberry and thyme syrup (recipe below)
1.5 oz. gin
1 oz. of cranberry juice
0.5 oz. tonic water
½ lime, juiced
½ cup of ice
FIRST THINGS FIRST – THE CRANBERRY & THYME SYRUP
Before you can get started, you’ll need to whip up the cranberry and thyme syrup. You’ll need the following ingredients for it:
1 cup of water
1 cup of sugar
4 sprigs of thyme
8 fresh cranberries
Combine these ingredients in a small saucepan. Let it boil for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the sugar dissolves. Strain the mixture and let it cool. Any extra syrup you don’t use in the cocktail can be stored in a glass container for up to a week.
MIX IT TOGETHER
Combine the cranberry and thyme syrup, gin, cranberry juice, lime juice, and ice in a cocktail shaker. Then shake it up.
SERVE IT UP
Pour the mixture into a glass and top it with the tonic water. Add some fresh cranberries or a sprig of thyme on top for a festive touch.
Go eat, drink, and be merry.
