Handwoven in Uganda

A Collaboration with Rose & Fitzgerald

Meticulously handwoven using locally-sourced palm and banana leaves, this basket features clean, geometric lines in a deep indigo hue. The perfect size for storing magazines, throws, or firewood, it’s sure to bring a sophisticated touch to any corner nook.

Each one takes weeks to complete – all handcrafted by a cooperative of 150 women, tucked away in the Rwenzori Mountains. Made exclusively in a fair trade environment.

  • MEASUREMENTS: 10"H x 20"W
  • MATERIALS: Handwoven palm and banana leaves
  • COLORS: Natural with hand-dyed indigo accents
  • ORIGIN: Uganda

Since each basket is handwoven, please expect some slight variation in size.

Our baskets are sturdy, strong, and flexible, made to withstand constant use. If properly cared for, your basket will live a long life.

Dust your woven basket on a regular basis, wiping with a damp cloth if necessary. No other cleaning should be necessary.

Changes in temperature and humidity may cause your basket to expand and contract, which may make securing the lid difficult at times. Be patient and wait for the weather to change or remove from areas with high humidity (like bathrooms).

Beautiful Storage basket

Sturdy, stylish, and well made. I/m actually using this basket to store toys for my baby, but it still fits in with our decor and she uses it to stand up so it's a win win!!! I love the Citizenry, every item i buy is of the utmost integrity and so unique. I also bought a hamper with i LOVE as well. I am a huge fan of this company and that they support women and promote education and jobs. Bravo!!
