Woven in Japan by
Lightweight, incredibly soft, and quick to dry, say hello to your new can’t-live-without staples. Loomed with an oversized waffle construction, these waffle towels are more breathable and absorbent than your run-of-the-mill versions. Designed in three fresh hues and finished with a refined, flat-edge border, they’re as handsome as they are functional.
Each towel is made with long-staple Pima cotton and loomed in the oldest, family-run mill in Imabari that has spent 100 years perfecting the art of towel making. From weaving to dyeing and washing, each step is done in a fair-trade environment.
Note: Available in three sizes — face towel / washcloth, hand towel, or bath towel.
Face Towel / Washcloth: 14”L x 14”W
Hand Towel: 33”L x 14”W
Bath Towel: 57”L x 31”W
- MATERIALS: 100% Pima cotton (from the US)
- COLOR: Available in white, grey, and indigo
- ORIGIN: Japan
These cotton towels can be machine washed on cold with like colors. Tumble dry on low. Do not bleach.
After washing, the waffle weave will deepen and shrink a bit, developing a more organic character over time. We recommend hanging on a rack instead of hooks – the hooks will stretch out the weave over time.

First - the size of the towels are way bigger than you would have originally anticipated. Second - they're super soft, but knowing they're going to get even *softer* is amazing and I am super looking forward to it. They get softer as you *use them,* which speaks to the quality of this material. I purchased four sets of these for just my boyfriend and I to use - guests get the ugly towels for now. When we move into a place with two bathrooms, I'm going to buy a second set of a few of these in a different color (ours is in gorgeous indigo), so that it can be a specific set of guest towels JUST for guests. They're gonna feel like they're walking into a spa. Next wish is for the hinoki wooden mat!

Overall I am a fan of these towels. They absorb water well and the coloring is as pictured. They are also thicker than other Japanese waffle towels that I have purchased in the past, but not so thick that they feel heavy in the summer. The only downside is that I didn't realize the bottom edges would look less flat and polished after washing. They get some waviness to them.
