La Cima Flatweave Area Rug - Grey
Thanks to an intricate process of mixing natural wool fibers (no dyes here!), this area rug features a subtle, yet textured grey hue. And bonus, this mixing technique also ensures the yarn is heavier and softer than usual – the perfect base layer for building out a room.
Handwoven and hand-dyed by a cooperative of sixty women weavers in Oaxaca, each one takes almost three weeks to complete. All made start-to-finish in a fair trade environment.

Our rugs are handcrafted to last a lifetime, made using the highest quality natural fibers – no synthetic materials like viscose, rayon, or polyester are used.
Basic care:
Because each rug is handcrafted with only natural materials, it is normal to see loose fibers or shedding in the first six months.
Vacuum lightly at least once a week using only low suction and no beater brush, as this may damage the rug. More frequent vacuuming will help prevent shedding.
Avoid placing rugs in prolonged direct sunlight as this can cause fading.
Rotate your rug every 3-6 months. This will help prevent excessive wear and fading in one area.
The use of a rug pad will keep your rug lying smooth and flat and will help prevent slippage.
Treating stains:
Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth - act quickly to prevent drying. Avoid harsh chemicals and household cleaners as they may damage or fade the rug. When in doubt, professional cleaning is always best.

I have several of these as hallway runners and now one area rug. They are so beautiful and simple. I am also surprised by how well the ivory colored border holds up to everyday wear. I do wish The Citizenry would roll instead of fold the area rug as I think it will take a long time for the crease marks to disappear. But all in all this is my favorite item by The Citizenry.

This rug is beautiful in person. The grey is a little darker and the white more of an off-white in more natural lighting, but that still perfectly works for us. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
