Our linen is machine washable. Wash on the gentle cycle with like colors and using a mild, liquid laundry detergent. Do not bleach. Tumble dry on low heat, and remove promptly. Since linen is a natural fiber, it will shed at first – this should stop after a few washes though. We recommend using Wool Dryer Balls instead of dryer sheets to reduce waste and increase fluffiness.
Linen naturally has a more relaxed look that does not require ironing. However, if you would like more structure - iron with warm heat on the milder “linen” setting.

I ordered the graphite stripe linen duvet cover. It is beautiful, well made, and soft. I sleep very comfortably with this duvet cover. I had to find a duvet insert that matched the specs of this duvet cover and managed to find one made with bamboo fiber fill on Amazon. I paired this duvet cover with Tuft & Needle's percale sheets in the color sage. However, now that I know how luxurious the linen is from The Citizenry, I am considering investing in their linen sheets! One thing to note about the linen duvet cover: it does have a lot of lint, which can stick to dark-colored clothing; this problem should disappear after a few washes.
I love the look of this duvet cover and was planning to order the matching sheets when they came back in stock in the size I need and color that matches the sand stripe duvet I purchased. However after washing the duvet and sleeping with it for a couple weeks, this linen material would not be at all comfortable as sheets, especially if you live in a warmer climate. The texture against a sweaty body would be seriously itchy and uncomfortable. Also, the duvet desperately needs ties placed in the center of each edge (8 total), not just the corners (4 total that it actually has). The comforter moves around in it too much with only 4 ties. Comfortable to use as a duvet, but would not recommend the sheets. Like the look of it enough that I will not return it due to the movement from having too few ties to tether the comforter in place, and will just put up with fussing with it frequently to get it back in place. For this price tag though, really would expect that they have more ties in it and this should be a non-issue.
