Handcrafted with locally-sourced hinoki in Okawa, Japan. From start-to-finish, each piece takes over a week to complete. All made in a fair trade workshop that has perfected the art of furniture making over four generations.

This piece is unfinished, meaning that the wood is untreated with lacquer or wax coatings. This creates a more natural, matte look, but also leaves the wood at higher risk to staining - please use coasters with drinks to avoid any undesired staining.

BEAUTIFUL. So I was very hesitant to buy this because of the price. After several weeks of debating, I finally purchased and when it arrived it exceeded my expectations, the bench is so smooth, the grain & tone of the wood is so bright, if lights up my whole bedroom and your eyes can’t help but focus on the bench because how stunning it is. When you see this in person you can tell this was built by a highly skilled craftsperson. Now that I see it in person, it’s definitely worth the price in something I plan on having in my home for decades ❤️

I have been looking at this piece for at least 18 months and finally bit the bullet. I am so happy I did, this piece is very heavy / durable. It looks exactly as advertised. It sits near our front door, we have a small living room with no real entryway so this is a great piece for guests to sit on to put on shoes/ put down purses, etc.
