Dreamed up in 1938 by Argentine architects, the butterfly chair is an icon of modern design. Meticulously handcrafted from 100% vegetable-tanned saddle leather or ethically-sourced cowhide, this heirloom-quality piece ages beautifully – much like a fine wine.

We partnered with a small leather workshop in Buenos Aires to bring this timeless design back to life. To create these chairs, they use only the highest quality materials. Each one takes three days to complete, all made under fair trade standards.

NOTE: Due to the size of this item, returns for a refund require a $65 total fee. Returns for store credit are always free.

    $25 for most other returned orders
    if your return includes oversized items (area rugs, furniture, mirrors)

    White glove delivery items are handled separately and have a 15% re-stocking fee.

    For all orders placed from November 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022, you have until January 31, 2023, to process a return or exchange.

This butterfly chair is perfect!

This butterfly chair arrived quickly, was easy to put together, and is both beautiful and cozy. I love the wide profile and the leather is soft and buttery. It’s only going to get better over time.

I purchased the butterfly chair in cognac leather, and yes, the instructions and the logistics of putting it together were challenging, and I am good at this sort of thing, really good. So understand the frustration. But assembled it is beautiful and I have received many compliments on it. So, today I purchased the Palermo Butterfly Chair in light gray cowhide, with confidence that it will be beautiful as well. Highly recommend!

Great looking chair

Great chair, soft leather. The feedback on installation is true - a bit of puzzle-piecing. But once assembled it looks great and is a sturdy chair

Chair is great! Assembly a major pain.

The various components/legs were mislabeled and I was about to send it back. Out of desperation, I laid out the pieces and labeled them according to the diagram. Once I did that the chair went together fairly quickly. Double check the labels and save yourself major frustration.

Nice materials, difficult to assemble, angle of the chair makes it very uncomfortable - you are tilted back with not head or neck support.

This piece is delivered to your home by our premium White Glove Service. 

In-stock items are expected to be delivered within 4-6 weeks from your order. Delivery timelines for custom furniture may vary. Your dedicated two-person team will deliver this product to your door, unpack your item in the room of your choice, and remove all packaging materials upon your approval.
