Our Palermo Tripolina Chair's cover is made of thick 100% Argentinian vegetable-tanned polo saddle leather that, like a fine wine, ages beautifully. All hand-dyed and stitched in a small workshop in Buenos Aires. The supporting frame is hand-carved from high quality guindo wood, a lightweight but incredibly durable timber, and assembled with iron hardware. Its compactness when folded makes it easy to take along on any adventure, without suffering style or comfort.
Originally designed in 1855 by a British engineer, the ‘Tripolina’ style became widely known in Europe as an officer’s chair used on military campaigns. But it also grew in popularity with safari hunters, explorers, and adventurers worldwide.
Notable for its elegant form and versatile function, this chair serves as a stylish addition to any living space or companion on your next journey.

My guest room is all about traveling and this fit in perfectly. Well made, shipped quick and customer service was awesome when I had questions. Only concern was the reproduction of color from the computer screen to reality. Leather color is lighter than pictured.

The chair is wonderful. It arrived though in a really beat up box and some of the materials from the inside of the box were hanging out. Additionally, while there was protective material around the leather, there was no protective material around the chair legs so they were damaged in transit. I already spoke to someone at the citizenry and they took care of it but just as a heads up it seems like it would probably happen again if the chair was packaged the same way. Thanks.

I wanted a low profile chair to put next to my bedroom window, and the Palermo Tripolina was just right. Like others have mentioned, it does crack and squeak when you shift, but that is to be expected with any leather seats. Shipping was quick, assembly was exceptionally easy, and it's lightweight and easy to move. What makes it almost perfect instead of perfect? I just need an ottoman to rest my feet on. Then it will be the perfect reading chair.
