Sadira Hand-Knotted Beni Ourain Area Rug

Easy 30 Day Returns. Unless noted as Final Sale.

This black and cream rug features the iconic patterns of the nomadic tribes in Morocco’s High Atlas. Masterfully hand-knotted using thick sheep’s wool, this pile-knot rug is one of the softest and most luxurious rugs your feet will ever touch.

While most Moroccan rugs on the market today are vintage, this beauty has been handcrafted exclusively for The Citizenry. Each rug takes 6 weavers a month to complete, made by a fair trade cooperative dedicated to preserving this lost art.

**Since each rug takes weeks to hand-loom, we only receive 1 - 2 per month.**

Unsure of what size rug you need? Visit our rug size and style guide for more information.

Fair Trade. Guaranteed. 100% of our products are made with a process guaranteed by the World Fair Trade Organization.

Our rugs are handcrafted to last a lifetime, made using the highest quality natural fibers – no synthetic materials like viscose, rayon, or polyester are used.

Basic care:

Because each rug is handcrafted with only natural materials and hand-trimmed to the desired pile height, it is normal to see loose fibers or shedding in the first six months.

Vacuum lightly at least once a week using only low suction and no beater brush, as this may damage the rug. More frequent vacuuming will help prevent shedding.

Avoid placing rugs in prolonged direct sunlight as this can cause fading.

Rotate your rug every 3-6 months. This will help prevent excessive wear and fading in one area.

The use of a rug pad will keep your rug lying smooth and flat and will help prevent slippage.

Treating stains:

Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth - act quickly to prevent drying. Avoid harsh chemicals and household cleaners as they may damage or fade the rug. When in doubt, professional cleaning is always best.
