Say hello to the most lightweight, absorbent, and soft towels we’ve ever laid eyes on (or hands, or feet, or… you get the idea). For extra durability and absorbency, the waffle weave is intentionally bigger than standard waffle-weave towels. The best part? What starts off as a pristine weave only becomes softer and more relaxed with each wash.

Each towel is made with long-staple Pima cotton and loomed in the oldest, family-run mill in Imabari that has spent 100 years perfecting the art of towel making. From weaving to dyeing and washing, each step is done in a fair trade environment.

These cotton towels can be machine washed on cold with like colors. Tumble dry on low. Do not bleach.
After washing, the waffle weave will deepen and shrink a bit, developing a more organic character over time. We recommend hanging on a rack instead of hooks – the hooks will stretch out the weave over time.

I bought these towels in navy and olive - both colors are gorgeous! I love the feel of them when they’re dry, and I especially love the feel of them drying off after a shower. They’re absorbent, pliant and visually beautiful. We love having them in our home.

I searched for a long time for an alternative to terrycloth towels. We live near the ocean and during the summer our towels never dry and start smelling musty. I really hoped these Imabari towels would be the solution. BUT, they're quite heavy and almost feel like you're trying to dry yourself with a blanket. They're also not as absorbent as terrycloth, so it takes longer to get dry. Also, due to the weave, they catch on jewelry, including rings. On the plus side, they're very well made. I really, really wanted to love these towels, but I don't. It looks like I'm stuck with them, though, since they're pretty pricey and I can't return them. I truly don't get the hype.

These towels are not only extremely soft, they get softer as you wash them and I’ve never had a towel that just wicks the water right off without rubbing. Highly absorbing but also fast drying! I bought two sets in Olive and I’m in love. Will buy in more colors!
