Woven in Japan by
Lightweight, incredibly soft, and quick to dry, say hello to your new can’t-live-without staples. Loomed with an oversized waffle construction, these waffle towels are more breathable and absorbent than your run-of-the-mill versions. Designed in three fresh hues and finished with a refined, flat-edge border, they’re as handsome as they are functional.
Each towel is made with long-staple Pima cotton and loomed in the oldest, family-run mill in Imabari that has spent 100 years perfecting the art of towel making. From weaving to dyeing and washing, each step is done in a fair-trade environment.
Note: Available in three sizes — face towel / washcloth, hand towel, or bath towel.
Face Towel / Washcloth: 14”L x 14”W
Hand Towel: 33”L x 14”W
Bath Towel: 57”L x 31”W
- MATERIALS: 100% Pima cotton (from the US)
- COLOR: Available in white, grey, and indigo
- ORIGIN: Japan
These cotton towels can be machine washed on cold with like colors. Tumble dry on low. Do not bleach.
After washing, the waffle weave will deepen and shrink a bit, developing a more organic character over time. We recommend hanging on a rack instead of hooks – the hooks will stretch out the weave over time.

Best towels EVER!
We ordered the Imabari Waffle Towels and we are absolutely thrilled with them. They are light weight yet so absorbent. They continue to get softer with each washing and they feel incredible against your skin. Also the size of the bath towel is perfect for wrapping around your body. I could not love these towels any more than I do! Don't miss out!
Disappointing for something I wanted to love
I have this face towel in grey and bath towel in indigo. So far, I've only used the face towel. First impressions: I don't like the grey tone, but I love the deep indigo. Right out of the packaging, the towels feel softer than I expected. Absorbancy seems good, but I don't think they dry any faster than my other towels, which I had really hoped they would since I seem to have a humidity problem in my bathroom. The aesthetic of the towel gets somewhat ruined when you wash and tumble dry it because of shrinkage. I don't mind the deepening of the waffle pattern, but the edges shrink up meaning that the square shape of the face towel in my case is a bit lost. Not sure yet if it's an issue that will be more or less noticeable on the larger bath towel.
Don't listen to the positive reviews
I ordered a bunch of these towels (which aren't cheap) based on the positive reviews, and I've been very disappointed with them. I've been using the towels for several months. I've washed them a lot in hopes that they will get better, but they have not. NEGATIVES: - they can only be hung on a bar, not on a hook, otherwise they lose their shape, get stretched out from the hook - they are not absorbent nor do they dry quickly. My previous towels from Wamsutta worked much better than these waffle towels I honestly do not feel like they dry me off very well at all compared to any other towel I've used at home, a hotel, at friends' homes. I use the smaller hand towel to dry off my electric tooth brush before putting it back in the medicine cabinet, and I have to rub and rub and rub to get all of the water off. - I like to wrap a towel around my head to dry off my hair when I get out of the shower. Weirdly enough, these do not want to stay wrapped or stay on my head, nor do they absorb much water. If it was up to me, I would return all of these towels and get my money back. I really wanted to splurge out on nice, new towels after finishing a big remodel, and I've been disappointed in this product. I wouldn't take the time to write a review unless it was really true.

I can’t believe I spent $100 on four very average white wash cloths. They are not the quality I would have expected for a $25 wash cloth. They are kind of thin & irregularly shaped. Very disappointing. Won’t be purchasing any further items
