Ladhi Hand-Knotted Area Rug
Consider this an invitation to get cozy. The allover texture of this plush area rug is woven from thick New Zealand wool for a touchable pile that feels incredibly soft underfoot. Crafted with an effortlessly cool diamond and checker pattern at its center, each piece is a perfect addition to any modern space.
Each rug is hand-knotted using the finest sheep's wool. All made start-to-finish in a fair trade workshop in Bhadohi, India.
We recommend using a RUG PAD to prevent wrinkles and slippage.

NOTE: This rug is a high-pile rug, with a 1" pile height.Be sure to measure for door clearance. Returns of rugs not delivered via white-glove will incur a $65 refund fee, due to the size of the item. Returns for store credit are always free, except for rugs delivered via white glove which will have a restocking fee of 15% applied.

Our rugs are handcrafted to last a lifetime, made using the highest quality natural fibers – no synthetic materials like viscose, rayon, or polyester are used.
Basic care:
Because each rug is handcrafted with only natural materials and hand-trimmed to the desired pile height, it is normal to see loose fibers or shedding in the first six months.
Vacuum lightly at least once a week using only low suction and no beater brush, as this may damage the rug. More frequent vacuuming will help prevent shedding.
Avoid placing rugs in prolonged direct sunlight as this can cause fading.
Rotate your rug every 3-6 months. This will help prevent excessive wear and fading in one area.
The use of a rug pad will keep your rug lying smooth and flat and will help prevent slippage.
Treating stains:
Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth - act quickly to prevent drying. Avoid harsh chemicals and household cleaners as they may damage or fade the rug. When in doubt, professional cleaning is always best.

We searched for the « right » rug for a long time and were thrilled when the Citizenry added the Ladhi Rug. I call it the Goldilocks rug because it is just right. The pile is cozy and soft without being shaggy, and the colors both brighten and warm our space. We receive many compliments, and it makes us want to hang out in our living room all the time. I was initially concerned about the rug showing dirt and shedding, but it’s held up well in the higher traffic living room for our first few weeks, albeit normal amounts of shedding for a wool rug when we vacuum. No kids or pets in our lives yet, so can’t speak to its durability under more stress :) We couldn’t be happier!
