Oaxaca .01 By Andrew Shepherd
This image captures the untamed beauty of the Oaxacan landscape. It was snapped on our way to meet a Zapotec weaving cooperative who live and work in a rural town just outside the region.
Dallas-based photographer and cinematographer, Andrew Shepherd, shot this while on our trek across Mexico. Known for his documentary-style work, Andrew has a storyteller’s eye, capturing the everyday moments that may otherwise go unnoticed. More about Andrew Shepherd here.

Perfect and dreamy
Honestly, I was initially disappointed that the larger sizes weren’t available and spent much time shopping for something similar, and though “similar” did exist, and in sizes I thought I preferred, I could not shake THIS particular image, with the nearly perfectly pyramidish mountain, the specific arrangement of these particular cacti… I wound up taking this one anyway, in spite of it’s size, and had it framed in a gorgeous carved champagne frame with several inches of white matting, and it is so perfect now that I am very happy the larger sizes weren’t available.
