Our linen is machine washable. Wash on the gentle cycle with like colors and using a mild, liquid laundry detergent. Do not bleach. Tumble dry on low heat, and remove promptly. Avoid bleaching agents and personal care products that contain benzoyl peroxide or alpha hydroxy acids.
Some shedding does occur in the natural life cycle of linen, especially as it softens with age. This should stop after a few washes though
Linen naturally has a more relaxed look that does not require ironing. However, if you would like more structure - iron with warm heat on the milder “linen” setting.

I’ve trie and have a handful of linens from different companies-Sijo, Silk & Snow, Avocado, Magic Linen, Quince, Marupe Linen from Etsy. Hands down, Citizenry definitely has the best color options. Really fast shipping, too. I’ve bought from the regular site and on their Second Home site. Although I would say the weight of the Citizenry’s linen is definitely more suited for summer. And because they are woven lighter, they tend to feel a bit more crispy after the wash, even if only machine drying to damp and completing the drying process by air drying. This is common when the weave is not as compressed, so you will tend to feel the fibers more but it will be all the more breathable for the summer. I don’t mind but I have gotten used to the feel of new linen. I will have to see how these soften and hold up over time, and wash after wash. I do use Dirty Labs laundry detergent and use wool balls and no softener on a gentle wash cycle and only dry to damp and then air dry the rest of the dry cycle. I got the Aegean color and also the olive. I love the saturation and hue of both of these colors and it’s unique to the Citizenry. Perhaps over the summer or the holidays, if there are deals, I will grab a couple more bundles but I really want to wait a few months to see how these two hold up with minimal use since I have other linen to rotate bedding with. As with all other linens, expect a lot of lint in your dryer and make your dust buster your friend because it will shed a lot in the beginning, and this bundle was no different. This set is also on the pricier side of linen, but I really fell in love with the color options.
