This natural, ethically-sourced sheepskin comes from the Northwest coast of Ireland, a region known for incredibly soft and dense sheep’s wool. Thanks to a complex two-month tanning process, this sheepskin rug has a silky soft feel – a luxe landing pad for your feet.

Each one is ethically sourced as a by-product of the meat industry. From start-to-finish, this sheepskin rug is made in a fair trade environment.

Our sheepskin throws are made from 100% ethically sourced sheepskin. Here are a few tips to make sure this beauty stays in tip-top shape:
Basic Care:
If your throw needs a little extra fluffing, you can comb with wire brush. Do not tumble dry.
Treating stains:
If the stain was caused by liquid, act quickly to prevent from drying – use paper towels to absorb by pressing gently. Professional dry cleaning is always your best bet. Do not machine wash.

United StatesAmazing sheep skin rug
it's definitely big and plush. Upon arrival, I did get it dry cleaned as I had a problem with carpet moths in the past since it is wool. Just so people are aware, it's not pure white but ivory in color which is natural for sheep skins. And there's no smell either. The construction is of good quality.

I ordered the sheepskin rug & was beyond disappointed in the quality. It was not soft at all, scraggly, and definitely not white as pictured (almost a dingy yellow). Beyond disappointed because I waited such a long time to receive it. To boot, I was charged a significant restocking fee when I honestly feel as though this might have been a previously returned item that was maybe washed or something?? I can’t figure it out… Very hesitant to buy anything now from Citizenry because of potential quality issues that end up costing me in the end :(((

I have an antique, quarter sawn, oak rocker that this goes perfect with. I’ve read some of the reviews that talked about a smell, and unless your nose is in the rug, I don’t smell anything. Include during humidity. It is an animal skin, and to me has a wool smell. I love the ivory color. It’s not pure white nor did I expect it to be. It’s soft, beautiful, and this is a competing price for the size and quality. Love it!

I really wanted to like this rug. This is definitely thicker than the other sheep skin rug I have from the other retailer. I purchased the rug in the winter of 2020 and all was good until the summer of 2021. I live in NYC and it can get humid in the summer and as the humidity rose, I started to smell the rug. It smells like wet rags. Just to be clear, I am not sticking my nose in the rug to smell it - on the bad day, I open my bedroom door and I can smell it & some days, I smell it just standing near it. I contacted the customer service, who was very nice and tentative, and was told that the smell is the chemical that they use to treat the sheep skin & using essential oil and airing them out normally help. I did both and still no success. When the humidity is low, it does not smell so I am sure that the rug was not treated correctly . My other sheep skin rug from the other retailer does not have any smell under same condition of humidity. I asked for an exchange but only received some discount and am stuck with the smelly rug. Very disappointing.
