CARING FOR YOUR WASHABLE RUG
Artisan handcrafted design meets timeless durability. Crafted from the finest 100% wool & made to be machine washable – here’s how to care for your washable rug.
PLACEMENT IS KEY
Avoid direct sunlight, as prolonged sun exposure can fade the colors over time. Whether you’re placing a bathroom rug or a kitchen rug, be sure to think about how sunlight can change in your space throughout the day. Rotate your rug every 3-6 months to help prevent excessive wear and fading in any one area.

ALWAYS USE A RUG PAD
We always advise using a rug pad. Rug pads help prevent everyday slipping and sliding, helping your rug lay smooth to avoid wrinkles or warping. If you’re looking for an eco-friendly option, our felt rug pads are a great choice. Made from felt with a solid, natural rubber backing, this rug pad is needle-punched, allowing your rug and floors to breathe while also preventing dirt and dust.

LET’S START WITH THE BASICS
Our high-quality, natural wool washable rugs are designed to last, especially with proper care. Because wool rugs are handcrafted with only natural materials, it is normal to see loose fibers or shedding in the first six months. Vacuum your rug lightly, at least once a week, to remove debris and help prevent shedding. Use a low suction setting and ditch the beater brush.

SPOT CLEAN AS NEEDED
Life happens—and your rug is ready for it. Gently blot spills with a damp paper towel and clean water to lift the stain. For tougher spots, mix a small amount of unscented, citrus-free soap into the water before blotting. Finish by dabbing with clean water to remove any residue. Repeat as needed.

MACHINE WASHING, THE RIGHT WAY
For a deeper clean, wash your rug alone on a delicate cycle at 86°F using 1 tablespoon of clear, unscented detergent. Skip the bleach and fabric softener. Tumble dry low and remove promptly. For large sizes: use an 80-lb machine for 6’x9’ and 8’x10’ rugs, a 100-lb machine for 9’x12’. For 10’x14’, opt for spot or professional cleaning only.
