Drawing inspiration from the quiet moments and morning rituals, this humble ceramics workshop turns clay into moments of connection. Shaped entirely by the hands of one woman, every session is a new chance to recreate each piece, knowing that the small human variations will give it new life. At the end of the day, it’s the small role that each piece plays when gathering with family or friends that make it most meaningful.
Nestled in the bustling heart of Northern Ireland, this woman-owned workshop crafts every piece from smooth white stoneware clay, thrown by hand on the potter’s wheel. After the first shaping, the pots are left to firm up for a day before they’re placed back on the wheel. The excess is carved away with a sharp tool, revealing smooth lines that are ready for the kiln. Over the next few days, the pieces are intermittently fired, cooled, and dipped in glaze to reveal the finished product.
From soft clay to a well-fired mug, this process can take about 3 weeks. It’s a handmade labor of love, crafted for the moments you won’t forget.
