If the stain was caused by liquid, act quickly to prevent from drying – use paper towels to absorb.
When in doubt, professional dry cleaning is always going to be your best bet. If you do decide to take matters into your own hands, a few tips for you:
- For wine, coffee, or tea, apply a solution of warm water, detergent and white vinegar with a damp sponge. Wipe with clean cloth and let dry.
- For oil, chocolate, lipstick, nail polish, or ink, scrub or scrape the stained area first. Then apply a solution of hot water and detergent with a clean cloth to absorb as much of the stain as possible. If required, leave the wet cloth overnight before wiping with a clean cloth to dry.

Please note, I am usually very skeptical when it comes to art and wall hanging rugs but these are perfect. The texture is so organic and luxurious and the pattern is a classic that will last forever. It took some time for the rugs to lay flat but we love them so much!
Overall I like the looks and style but after about a year of having these on the walls, I can't seem to stop the curling on the bottom. I recently took them down and flattened them and plan on rehanging.
Great wall hangings. The wood hanger is well made. The wall hangings look great. I’m happy with the purchase. The only reason I didn’t give the wall hangings 5 stars is because there was a very small size difference between the two rugs in the vertical direction. Visually, the rugs if hung side by side, need a straight line at the bottom. This was possible to adjust with the amount clipped into the wooden hanger. The rugs also curl a little bit on the wall. They don’t lay smooth and flat as much as I would like. I’m going to keep playing with making small adjustments on the hangers to get the rugs flatter. Also, I have white, white walls. Cooler and more white than say Benjamin Moore’s Simply White for those white paint color nerds out there. The rugs against this white, white wall are more light cream / natural color.
The quality and appearance of these was even better than expected. They offer a beautiful, textured alternative to traditional frames or canvas wall art. We’re asked often where they’re from by admiring visitors and love telling the story of the artisans who helped create them.
