Woven in Japan by
Say hello to the most lightweight, absorbent, and soft towels we’ve ever laid eyes on (or hands, or feet, or… you get the idea). For extra durability and absorbency, the waffle weave is intentionally bigger than standard waffle-weave towels. The best part? What starts off as a pristine weave only becomes softer and more relaxed with each wash.
Available in white, grey, and indigo, you’ll want these towels in every corner of your home.
- 1 face towel / washcloth
- 1 hand towel
- 1 bath towel
Each towel is made with long-staple Pima cotton and loomed in the oldest, family-run mill in Imabari that has spent 100 years perfecting the art of towel making. From weaving to dyeing and washing, each step is done in a fair-trade environment.
Face Towel / Washcloth: 14”L x 14”W
Hand Towel: 33”L x 14”W
Bath Towel: 57”L x 31”W
- MATERIALS: 100% Pima cotton (from the US)
- COLOR: Available in white, grey, and indigo
- ORIGIN: Japan
These cotton towels can be machine washed on cold with like colors. Tumble dry on low. Do not bleach.
After washing, the waffle weave will deepen and shrink a bit, developing a more organic character over time. We recommend hanging on a rack instead of hooks – the hooks will stretch out the weave over time.

Overall I am a fan of these towels. They absorb water well and the coloring is as pictured. They are also thicker than other Japanese waffle towels that I have purchased in the past, but not so thick that they feel heavy in the summer. The only downside is that I didn't realize the bottom edges would look less flat and polished after washing. They get some waviness to them.
I ordered a bunch of these towels (which aren't cheap) based on the positive reviews, and I've been very disappointed with them. I've been using the towels for several months. I've washed them a lot in hopes that they will get better, but they have not. NEGATIVES: - they can only be hung on a bar, not on a hook, otherwise they lose their shape, get stretched out from the hook - they are not absorbent nor do they dry quickly. My previous towels from Wamsutta worked much better than these waffle towels I honestly do not feel like they dry me off very well at all compared to any other towel I've used at home, a hotel, at friends' homes. I use the smaller hand towel to dry off my electric tooth brush before putting it back in the medicine cabinet, and I have to rub and rub and rub to get all of the water off. - I like to wrap a towel around my head to dry off my hair when I get out of the shower. Weirdly enough, these do not want to stay wrapped or stay on my head, nor do they absorb much water. If it was up to me, I would return all of these towels and get my money back. I really wanted to splurge out on nice, new towels after finishing a big remodel, and I've been disappointed in this product. I wouldn't take the time to write a review unless it was really true.

Right out if the box I fell in love with these towels and then I washed them... didn't know they could get any better. They are soft and fluffy, kind of airy weight to them but still feel like a cozy blanket. Seriously, best towels of all time.
