Handcrafted in Mexico by
Crafted from burnished clay and finished with a black steel base, these sleek planters double as sculptural art pieces. Their clean, modern lines instantly upgrade any corner’s botanical game.
Meticulously handcrafted by master artisans in Jalisco, Mexico, each one takes three weeks to complete. All made start-to-finish in a fair trade environment.
Note: These planters can be used both indoors and outdoors. Since this is an all-natural product, the finish will fade over time – exposure to sun and water will speed up that process.

This planter can be used both indoors and outdoors. Part of the beauty of this all-natural material is that the clay will fade and change over time – exposure to sun and humidity will speed up that process. To slow the aging process and minimize reaction to humidity, we recommend using a pot liner to keep soil from making direct contact with the clay.
This planter has a drainage hole at the bottom. When styling indoors, we recommend using a saucer to catch any water.
For cleaning, wipe with a dry, non-abrasive cloth to remove dust and light debris. If necessary, use mild soap and water - no harsh chemicals here!

I was very happy to buy this product to gift it to my wife for Mother’s Day. The look is very nice but the color is yellow and not ocher red as displayed on photos but the main issue is the big warning sign inside the pot saying to not put any soil directly in it!!! So disappointed...
Hi Gregory, So sorry to disappoint you here! We do expect slight color variations in finished pots - but so sad it wasn't just the perfect fit for you! And, to be on the safe side, a plastic liner helps protect the pot from stains that result from acidic soils. Someone from the team will definitely reach out to check in - and we really appreciate you taking the time to reach out with some thoughts on the Cantaro Pot. Best, -The Citizenry Team
Love the design - lends a mid-century touch to the room without being kitschy like so many legged planters. Really lovely color, a little lighter and warmer than your average terracotta. The large size holds ~4-5 gallons of soil, perfect for your large houseplants; ie. ficus, fig, dracaena... The drainage whole is very tiny, it would be nice if it was larger. I'd be nervous to drill larger, but I'm sure you could. Price is steep in my opinion, but no regrets.
I love this planter, and my huge and happy monstera does too. I love the calcifications that naturally occur on the terra cotta. This is the best large planter with a drainage hole that I've been able to find. I would love to add another to my household. I hope the artisans continue make more - their work is of the highest quality.
