Palermo Butterfly Chair
Dreamed up in 1938 by Argentine architects, the butterfly chair is an icon of modern design. Meticulously handcrafted from 100% vegetable-tanned saddle leather or ethically-sourced cowhide, this heirloom-quality piece ages beautifully – much like a fine wine.
We partnered with a small leather workshop in Buenos Aires to bring this timeless design back to life. To create these chairs, they use only the highest quality materials. Each one takes three days to complete, all made under fair trade standards.

Great chair
We ordered the chair and it looks amazing! The leather is very rich looking and the chair is very sturdy and has been standing up to our very active son playing and sitting on the chair! Looks more expensive than it costs. Would recommend!

I just received this chair in the mail today and was extremely disappointed in the item that was sent. There were three points that made me regret this purchase: 1. The package came absolutely trashed as the box had holes, rip marks and it just looked like it was dropped from the sky. 2. The bag it came in was ripped. 3. The metal rods came damaged with numerous scratch marks and dents. Overall, it just felt like it was a returned damaged product that somehow passed quality check. I regret purchasing this product at this high of a price and now don't want to buy furniture from Citizenry at this point as that confidence in receiving a quality product just isn't there anymore. I reached out to Customer service by email but waiting on the next steps.

I love my grey butterfly chair! I had some trepidation after reading the reviews which were critical of the assembly instructions. But mine arrived with color-coded tape and I assembled it by myself in 20 minutes. It’s a beauty.
