Palermo Chair – Black & Cognac
Dreamed up in 1938 by Argentine architects, the butterfly chair is an icon of modern design. Meticulously handcrafted from 100% vegetable tanned saddle leather, this heirloom-quality piece ages beautifully – much like a fine wine.
We partnered with a small leather workshop in Buenos Aires to bring this timeless design back to life. To create these chairs, they use only the highest quality leather from local polo saddleries. Each one takes three days to complete, all made under fair trade standards.
NOTE: Due to the size of this item, returns for a refund require a $65 total fee. Returns for store credit are always free.

It has been very frustrating.
Hi Sally, Thank you for your feedback here! We're so sorry to see that you are having issues with assembling this beauty. There are assembly instructions on the product page if you're in need of those. We'll be sure someone from the team has reached out to check in and see if there's any way we can help. First, I am a huge fan of the Citezreny's mission and products, but this particular purchase was a let down. The product arrived in a very damaged shipping box. Inside the box there was minimal padding - in fact, the thin blue bag the chair arrived in was tattered and looked re-used, not the formal packaging you would expect/I have seen in the past. There was some damage to the black paint on legs, no directions on how to assemble the chair (which was not straightforward), and the metal took some bending and many tries to actually fit together. Once assembled, it is functional, but not perfect. The leather portion is lovely.

We want to be sure you're happy with your purchase, so our client experience team has reached out to discuss next steps. Thanks so much for your support of The Citizenry and our mission - it's because of customers like you that we're able to produce a sustainable income for artisan partners around the world. The product is great and is exactly what I was looking for in color and quality. The chair arrived without assembly instructions but I figured it out. The ends of the shipping box were open so better packaging for shipment is needed.
We ordered the chair and it looks amazing! The leather is very rich looking and the chair is very sturdy and has been standing up to our very active son playing and sitting on the chair! Looks more expensive than it costs. Would recommend!
