Story
Handcrafted in Mexico by
The San Rafael Workshop
A modern take on the classic safari chair. Luxuriously thick leather, vegetable-tanned and sun-dried (no chemicals here!) to enrich its warm caramel hue. Paired with an all-natural wood base and slingback style, this chair has major lounge appeal.
Style as a duo with the San Rafael Stool to make the ultimate “kick-back-and-relax” statement.
Handcrafted by an award-winning workshop in Mexico City, each chair takes 7 days to complete. All made start-to-finish in a fair-trade environment.
Every chair is one-of-a-kind. Leather tones will vary and darken over time. We only use the highest quality, ethically-sourced hides – expect slight knicks and markings that add a bit of character.
*Note: Due to the nature of this design, returns require a scheduled pickup and incur a $150 handling fee.

Great chair
I bought 2 of these and the shipping was fast and they were well packed without excessive materials :) assembly is super easy and the chairs look beautiful. They are pretty comfortable and I assume overtime, as the leather wears in, they will be even more so. Very cozy if you put your feet up on the coffee table so I see why they make a matching ottoman ;p The only negative for me is that the metal studs holding the seat bottom on don’t have some kind of “nut” to lock the two pieces securely inplace. The middle studd on both chairs keeps detaching from the leather. Not a big deal since the other 3 plus the weight of a person are enough to be sturdy but just a bit annoying. I hope in the future there are replacement leather slings in different colors so you can swap them out if you want :)
