For us, 2017 is about perseverance, positivity, and bringing as much beauty into this crazy world as we can.
Over the past two and a half years, we’ve seen some success – our team, collections, and artisan partnerships have continued to grow (thanks to all of you!). We’ve also encountered a few failures (or should we say learning opportunities?) that have helped us refine our model and processes. The most important thing is that we’ve continued to prove it’s possible to scale artisanal goods, but it takes hard work, smart thinking, and integrity in every decision along the way.
We don’t always go with the easy choice. Instead, we strive to make the beautiful choice – the one that unlocks value for both consumers and artisans. In 2017, we resolve to make more of those choices.

For every decision, we will choose creativity and progress. We’ll ask ourselves, “Is there a better way?” We will keep dreaming big.
For every artisan partnership, we’ll push ourselves to learn what they need to grow their business. We will be honest with ourselves and open to changing our processes to become a better partner. As we grow, we’ll keep asking “How can we make these relationships even stronger and more sustainable?”
For every product, we’re going to ruthlessly edit so we can move forward with fewer, better, and dare we say, even more beautiful pieces. To do this, we will continue to listen to you to understand what value our products can add to your homes.
Most importantly, in a time of such negativity and divide, we’re going to keep building bridges – to bring regions, cultures, and perspectives together - all around the world. We are going to approach every interaction with humility and integrity, seeking commonality above everything else.
We challenge you to join us. Even when it’s not easy, continue to choose positivity and integrity. Choose to make the world more beautiful with every little decision you make. Those decisions add up, and together, we can change the way the world thinks and does business.
The year ahead is going to be our toughest yet, but we welcome it with open arms.
