Hello, Spring. Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes? It’s been far too long since we’ve seen you last.
In honor of the return of this glorious season, we’d like to propose a toast. Here’s to patio weather, open-toed shoes, and florals, lots and lots of florals. Can't wait for all that's to come this season!
And as you know, you can’t toast such an occasion with just any drink. No, you need something extra special. Our beverage du jour? A Blackberry Whiskey Smash – it’s slightly sweet, with a bit of tartness, and just a touch of spice, the perfect ode to spring.
Here’s our recipe:

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
2 oz. bourbon
½ oz. agave nectar
1 lemon half
3-4 blackberries
7 fresh basil leaves
Crushed ice
MASH IT UP
Muddle the basil leaves, lemon half, and blackberries in a cocktail shaker.
MIX IT TOGETHER
Add the bourbon and simple syrup and fill the rest of the shaker with ice. Shake it up, and then pour it (strained) into a cocktail glass filled with ice.
A LITTLE SOMETHIN’, SOMETHIN’
Add a sprig of basil or a blackberry or two for the finishing touch. Feel free to top it off with a bit of soda water if you’d like. And If you really want to step up your presentation, serve it up in one of our glasses or mugs, guaranteed to make any drink look instantly cooler.
